Aerith was a flower girl who used to live in the Sector 5 Slums of Midgar. Two years ago she met Cloud, who she sensed a mysterious familiarity with, and decided to join his team to defeat Sephiroth. After summoning Holy, the materia that could destroy meteor, Aerith was killed by Sephiroth Two years after FFVII's events, her presence is still felt.

A tough talking pilot with a "go-get-them" attitude. For years Cid dreamed of going into outer-space in the rocket that he built. And in FFVII his dream was finally fulfilled. He has married Shera/Sierra, the woman who he has lives with for many years, and even built an airship which he named after her. In Advent Children Cid is once again thrust into battle with the other ex-AVALANCHE members.

With this morbid aura, Cloud prefers to stay away from those he cares about, feeling truly helpless.

A malevolent alien with an instinct to cause ruin that crashlanded upon Gaia over 2000 years ago. Despite it almost causing the extinction of the Cetra race, it was eventually sealed within a geological stratum. However, one day Shin-Ra discovered the creature and, falsely believing her to be a Cetra, used her cells in the experiment that helped create the ominous Sephiroth. They were also used by Professor Hojo for his own experiments, which included Cloud & Zack. During Advent Children, Jenova's remains are kept a mystery, but they are sought by Sephiroth's Remnants as they wish to be acquainted with their 'Mother'.

Kadaj is the head of the Remnants and represents Sephiroth's cruelty. The Remnants are embodiments of Sephiroth’s divided spirit, plus other spirit energy tainted by his will during its brief stay in the Lifestream. He is being compelled by the subconscious influence of Sephiroth to locate his ‘Mother’ (Jenova) as this will be the means for the legendary SOLDIER to return once again. Kadaj is a true paradox, with his characteristics contradicting one another. He shows great cunning and composure, yet at the same time is prone to reckless behaviour and fury. His weapon is a double-bladed katana called the Souba.

Loz is another of Sephiroth’s Remnants and represents his strength. Despite his impressive physique and brute force, Loz does show a childlike nature at times. This is conveyed by his occasional sobbing and a desire to ‘play’. Loz’s primary weapon is a pilebunker known as the Dual Hound.

Marlene lost her family when she was young, and Barret adopted her, as she was his' best friend's daughter. She lived with him up until the meteor incident two years ago, where she was then looked after by Elmyra - Aerith's mother. Now that Barret works at the oil fields, Tifa takes care of Marlene at her bar "Seventh Heaven". Marlene is very close to Denzel, another orphan, who has Geostigma (Star Scar Syndrome).

Red Xlll / Nanaki (needs to be ported to the wiki!)

Nanaki is the last of his kind. He lived peacefully in Cosmo Canyon, until he was captured by ShinRa and used in a special "breeding program" to create more of his species. Cloud and Co. soon saved him, and he decided to join their team of AVALANCHE.

Despite his laid-back attitude and messy appearance, Reno takes great pride in being a member of the Turks, though he is quite unprofessional about it. He is good friends with Rude, and is the only one who can get the bald Turk to socialize. Reno has an unusual speech pattern in Japanese, speaking in a drawling manner and ending each sentence with the phrase "zoto" or simply "to" - something that can not be translated into English. Reno and Rude no longer hold any grudges against AVALANCHE, and instead work with them to defeat Kadaj's gang in Advent Children.

Reno and Rude continue to work together in the movie as they did as Turks in the game. Rude is a Turk, who is often quiet and does not socialize much. He is very protective of his fellow Turks, especially his close friend Reno. Despite his mild manner, Rude is also a very powerful fighter. He and Reno no longer hold any grudges against AVALANCHE, and instead work with them to defeat Kadaj's gang in Advent Children.

The president of the ShinRa Electrical Company. Rufus feels somehow responsible for meteor destroying Midgar, so he ordered the Meteor Monument be built in Edge City to honour that fateful day. Rufus is very self-confident and likes attention. Because of that, he uses a wheel-chair and covers himself with a white sheet, as a bit of an act. His Geostigma disease isn't as bad as he pretends it is.

A exceptional SOLDIER who served Shin-Ra, and the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII. He was born as a result of Jenova cells injected into his mother whist she was pregnant, and therefore born with outstanding potential. He eventually learned of his connection with the alien Jenova and fell into madness. A profound hatred for humanity itself was born within him, as he looked to summon down Meteor and exploit the planet’s destruction. Despite his defeat at the hands of his nemesis Cloud, Sephiroth's shadow still lingers during Advent Children.

Cloud's Childhood friend, and former AVALANCHE member. She has had a crush on Cloud for many years, although he doesn't seem to notice. After the meteor incident, Tifa rebuilt her bar "Seventh Heaven" in the city of Edge, and now takes care of the orphans of Midgar, as well as Barret's adopted daughter Marlene.

Tseng is the leader of the Turks. He is a very calm, and polite towards everyone, and is a bit of a work-aholic. At the beginning of Advent Children he and Elena are attacked by Kadaj's gang and brutally tortured.

A bratty young woman from the War ridden town of Wutai. After the war ended, the power of materia was greatly wanted, so Yuffie went out into the world to search for more materia, and return her town to it's former glory. During her journey Yuffie came across AVALANCHE and attempted to steal their materia, but she was soon persueded to join the team, and has remained with them ever since. After FFVII AVALANCHE split up, much to Yuffie's dismay. Her search for materia still continues...

Zack was a former First-class SOLDIER and Cloud's best friend from when they both worked under Shinra. After the tragic Nibelheim incident, both he and Cloud were captured by Hojo and treated as lab rats. They escaped many years later, but Zack was killed while he protected Cloud from Shinra gunfire. Since then Cloud vowed to live his life for both himself, and for Zack.
