Materia
If you've played FFVII, you'll know that Materia is the most important thing Cloud and his team needs, and it may be a movie, but they still require Materia.
In FFVII you never actually saw how materia was added to your weapons and armour, and heres a quick little guide to see just how it is done in the movie:
The First Stage is to simply insert the materia into the arm
The Materia starts to become one with the person
The Materia is inserted into the arm
The power of the Materia runs through the body
You now have the power of the power of the materia to use at your will.
