President ShinRa has order that a new army will be created in a deep underground facility, you have been selected to become a Deep Ground Soldier. As a DG Soldier, it will be your job to complete various missions and battle against other soldiers in an effort to rise in ranks and win the many rewards and just to prove that you are the strongest soldier out there. Forming a party with other players, and strategically do what ever is needed to rise!

Basics 1 - Create A Soldier

The first thing that you will need to start fighting as a DG Soldier, is a "Soldier" or a "Character" to actually play as. When you get to the Create a Soldier screen you will see the following options:

Name Gender Face Voice Color

Here is an explanation of each of the options: Name ~ This option is self explanatory, this is what you want the player to be called.

Gender ~ Again, self explanatory, however based on what you choose here you, the following options will change slightly. For this option, you simply have to choose between Male and Female.

Face ~ Each gender has 4 differnet face sets that they can choose from. Pick the one that you feel ressembles you best.

Voice ~ You can choose between 5 different voices for each gender. Try to pick the one that annoys you the least as you will be hearing it quite a bit. Select the voice to hear a preview of it, choose another one if you don't like it, or keep it selected if you do.

Color ~ This is the color of the costumes that you are wearing, you have three possible choices, Blue, Red & Yellow

Basics 2 - Starting Multiplayer

The Lobby

When you first start the game, in multiplayer mode, you will begin in the Lobby. Inside the lobby you can move about freely and communicate with other players. You can use the lobby as a meeting area for your friends, or simply a place to relax after a brutal day of defeating enemies. In addition, in the lobby you can shop for items and check what rank you have reached. If you want to you can also battle with other players.

Basics 3 - Breifing Room & Preperation

Briefing Room

Before you start the battle, it is a good idea to visit the Briefing Room. This is where you can make the final preperations before the battle, you can procure and distribute items, give last minute tactical and strategical advice to the team and verify the rules of the battle. When this is done you can start the battle

Item Distribution

When you enter the briefing room, various items are procured depending on your rank. You can use these items or trade them with others here in the briefing room in preperation for a battle.

Customising Weapons

When a rule restricting weapon customisation in the battle comes into effect, the only chance you will get to customise the weapon will be during your time in the briefing room. It is a good habit to get into nonetheless, as you wouldn't want to waste time in the battle changing weapons and customising them.

Team Dividing

When playing as part of a team, you will be taken to an area called the "transfer area" before your final preperations are complete. You can divide your team and set them particular tasks in this area. The area it self will have the same color as the team.

Basics 4 - On The Battlefield

The Battlefield

The battle field is a lush jungle where there's little but wilderness all around. However you wont have much time to take in the landscape as there will be a few obstacles in your way. The obstacles will be determined by the battle mode that you are playing. There are 3 battle modes to play, which are explained below:

Battle Mode

This is the mode where you will come face one on one with another player, the aim of this mode is to fulfill a victory condition which is set before the battle begins.

Team Battle Mode

Similar to battle mode, however this time its two teams facing each other. Strategic thinking and good placement will help your team to vicotry. Acheive victory by fulfilling the victory conditions set before the battle begins.

Mission Mode

In this mode, you are given a mission which must be carried out to win.
