Adelbert Steiner is one of the main playable protagonists of Final Fantasy IX and the Captain of Alexandria. At the beginning he hates Zidane, has he thinks he's just a common thief. Later, he'll see he's a very good friend. He will have to choose whether to protect his princess Garnet, or his queen.

First Encounter

Strategy

Oops! You've been caught by Knight Captain Stiener. Better fight your way to freedom. This time you'll only have Cinna and Blank joining you - with the latter being in a dashing Knights of Pluto uniform.

You'll notice that the members of Tantalus now have the ability to steal again, dicthing the useless SFX. Make good use of the skill to nab the Leather Hat, and Silk Shirt that the Knight Captain is holding onto, and then all out assault him until he gets angry, and uses a special attack that shatters Blank's armour, revealing a whole legion of [[|Oglop|Oglops]] which leaves the captain reeling.

Second Encounter

Strategy

So Vivi has revealed that Princess Cornelia is actually THE Princess. Now another battle ensues. Take out Haagen and Weimar first as they will both run away after one strike. Unfortunately, due to being back on stage, Zidane and Marcus both have SFX instead of their usual skills so you won't be stealing anything in this battle.

For a quick win, have Vivi cast Fire on the knight. If anyone gets injured, Garnet will do a great job of healing with her magic. Unfortunately at this point, she doesn't have enough MP to summon any of her Eidolons. Hm... That being said, he should go down in no time at all.

Strategy

Well, the Prima Vista is escaping with everyone on board, and the knight still will not give up. Not only that, but in the confusion of the getaway it would appear that he has failed to notice the Bomb which has been fired onto the ship!! Continue to attack him with normal attacks, and Fire from Vivi until the Bomb has grown big enough for Steiner to realise that they are, in fact, not joking and that everyone is in big trouble.
