Strategy

Bahamut will use its massive wings to knock Zack down with a gust of wind, or inflicting damage if you get too close. He also will cast powerful Lightning Bolt, which is a thunder-based attack, and his famous Mega Flare. Lightning Bolt can be avoided by dodging around the battle field, but Mega Flare cannot be avoided. Attack Bahamut while he's on the central platform. Zack can't reach him without a Limit Break when he's on distant platforms. Move in for a few sword slashes while he's close and heal up when he's far (especially after Mega Flare).

Final Fantasy VIII

Bahamut

Bahamut is one of the more powerful GFs in the game. He is found in the Deep Sea Research Center where you must battle and defeat him to acquire him. His attack Mega Flare is ideal because it is non-elemental and does massive damage. Bahamut also learns very useful abilities such as Rare Item (raises the chance of rare items being dropped by monsters), Mug, Auto-Protect, and the ability to refine items into the strongest magic in the game.

Brahne later summons him at the Iifa Tree to attack Kuja, but Kuja uses the Invincible to capture him and use him to attack Alexandria. He is defeated after Garnet and Eiko summon Alexander to protect the city. Garnet can learn to summon Bahamut from the Garnet item given to the party by Beatrix.
