Cactuar is a reoccurring enemy/summon in the Final Fantasy series. It often uses the 1,000 Needles skill to deal 1,000 points worth of damage to a character.

Final Fantasy VI

The Cactuar magicite is obtained after defeating Gigantuar in the Maranda Desert.

Level Bonus: Speed +2

Mp Cost: 50

Special Move: 1000 Needles

• Causes 1000 damage to all enemies

Final Fantasy VII

Cactuar appears in the desert surrounding Corel Prison.

No Damage: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth, Gravity, Wind, Water, Holy

Attacks: Mystery Kick

Protected Against: Death, Sadness, Slow, Slowly Stone, Berserk, Fury, Stop, Petrify, Paralyze, Sleep, Confusion, Frog, Death Sentence, Darkness, Poison, Silence, Small, Manipulate

Morph: Hi-Potion

Final Fantasy VIII

Cactuar is obtained after defeating Jumbo Cactuar on Cactuar Island. It's attack, 1000 Needles, does 1000 non-elemental damage for every ten levels it gains. Cactuar's most prized abilities are the stat bonuses it has (Str, Mag, Vit, HP, Spr. It also has Inititive, Auto-Potion, and Kamikaze.

   A speedy cactus of the desert. Damage always amounts to 1,000 with it's special skill
   1,000 needles.

 Notes: Often appear in groups and are quick to flee. Find on the Esthar plains or cactuar

Final Fantasy X

Cactuar appears as an enemy on Bikanel Island, found in the sandstorm area. It drops weapons with Piercing or Initiative, and armor with HP Stroll, MP Stroll, or HP +10%.

Some of Lulu's dolls are also fashioned after the cactuar. They are also involved in their own side quest.

Immune: Silence, Poison, Sleep, Threaten, Power Break, Armor Break, Darkness, Petrify, Zombie, Death, Sensor, Delay Attack, Magic Break, Mental Break

Final Fantasy X-2

Cactuar appears in Chapter 5 on Bikanel Island and in the Via Infinito on Floors 47-59. It is classified as a cactuar. Its "1000 Needles" attack can be learned as a Blue Bullet ability.
