Strategy

Krjn will aid you in this battle, but will be minimal help. Carrot is a Malboro, so be prepared for all manner of status effects (which are the biggest challenge in this fight). She’ll use Putrid Breath, which inflicts Sleep, Disable, Confuse, Disease, Immobilize, Blind, Oil, Petrify, Slow, and Poison. Have a good supply of Remedies to combat this, and equip what you can to protect against them. Carrot also uses Time Requiem, which casts Stop. Carrot won’t appear if you slay any other creatures in the area, so hold R2 and run to Carrot’s location in the middle of the Sun-dappled Path. Immediately cast Dispel on her to remove Haste, Protect, Bravery, Regen, Reflect, and Faith. Try using ranged weapons and keep your party members separated to avoid getting struck all at once. If things get hectic, you can always summon an Esper, who are immune to status effects. When Carrot’s HP drop to halfway, she’ll use Growing Threat, which doubles her level. Continue attacking a little while longer, then unleash a good Quickening chain to end the battle with Carrot.
