Evrae is a boss enemy from Final Fantasy X that appears in the skies above Bevelle. It is fought from the deck of the airship. Evrae drops weapons with Piercing or Stonetouch abilities, and armor with Stone Ward.

Strategy

This battle is a seriously tough one, and no Yuna or Aeons makes it yet harder. When the battle starts have Tidus use his Trigger Command to move the airship away. At this point you will probably want Tidus, Lulu and Wakka on. Use Tidus to Haste everyone and use cheer and use Slow on Evrae as he Hastes himself. Have Lulu use Reflex and then her best spells on Evrae, and have Auron on to take advantage of the spells. To make this battle slightly easier Cid will have the ship fire missiles at Evrae, he can do this a total of three times. After casting all your supportive magic and Cid has fired all his missiles, call him to bring the ship closer to Evrae, leaving you open to his most powerful attacks, change Lulu for a different character that has strong physical attacks as Evrae halves all elemental attacks. When close he may cast stone gaze on 1 character, its advisable that you cure them straight away either with Soft or an Al Bhed potion. He may also breathe in. If you have plenty of time before his next attack then you can have Tidus or Rikku move the ship away to safety. If you don't have time to move before his next attack then bring out Rikku and two characters with high HP or defence. The following turn of Evrae's he will use his most powerful attack, Poison breath. It deals well upwards of 1,000 damage to each character and poisons them. The best tactic is to have Rikku straight away use an Al Bhed Potion. Don't worry about using mega potions and any other items you have. You may also wish to throw as many Overdrives as possible at him. If you have Wakka's Attack Reels, then use it, it is alot better than Elemental Reels because, as mentioned earlier, Evrae halves elemental damage. When you are close it is best to keep Rikku on at all times to heal, or when not healing she can attack or use grenades. It is advisable to have a Sensor weapon (such as Brotherhood) on to keep an eye on his HP.

Another tactic that makes this battle easier is to use Rikku's Mix Sunburst. To do this you must have all the full al bhed dictionary, you can download these from your previous games or a friends memory card. If you can't get them all then you can't do this. After getting all the letters and completing the dictionary, talk to Rin just before you go up onto the top of the Airship. Rin and Tidus will have a conversation with Rin in Al Bhed before being given 99 Underdog's Secrets. Next make sure you have Rikku up to full Overdrive. Go straight into the battle and have Rikku do Mix. Use two Underdog's Secrets. She will use Sunburst, dealing a guaranteed 19,998 damage. Then just finish Evrae off, or get Rikku another Overdrive and use Mix again and do another Sunburst if you are really struggling.
