Garland is the main antagonist of the original Final Fantasy, and also appears as a playable character in Dissidia oppossing Warrior of Light.

Final Fantasy Dissidia
Garland fights on the side of Chaos, and because of his strong ties to Chaos (from the original Final Fantasy), he is portrayed as the leader of the villians.
