Grimoire Valentine is a non-playable character from Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. He is the deceased father of Vincent Valentine. Unbeknownst to Vincent, his father mentored fellow scientist Lucrecia Crescent. Dr. Valentine was killed when one of their experiments goes wrong, and Lucrecia blames herself. Vincent is then assigned (when he was a Turk) to be Lucrecia's bodyguard. Eventually, Vincent learns that Lucrecia worked with his father, and Lucrecia distances herself from Vincent over her guilt. Lucrecia states that Vincent's eyes are just like his father's, indicating that Vincent's red eyes are natural, and that Grimoire also had crimson-colored eyes.
