Luca is the second largest city in Spira in Final Fantasy X and X-2. It is on the southern tip of the main continent.

Luca is the location of the only blitzball stadium. In the sphere theater, the player can view spheres of previous game events. In Luca, the party sees Seymour and Mika for the first time, Yuna gets kidnapped by the Al Bhed for the first time, the player takes part in the only storyline blitzball game against the Luca Goers. After the game, the stadium is attacked by fiends and Tidus is reintroduced to Auron. Seymour summons Anima to rid the threat. Tidus also learns from Auron the whereabouts of his father, Jecht, and both join Yuna’s journey as guardians.

Final Fantasy X-2

Blitzball season is over and proprietor Rin has started a new coin game, Sphere Break, of which Yuna, Rikku, and Shinra are all players. Participating in the tournament and winning will net the player the Lady Luck dressphere. Later, blitzball returns, but the mini game is played differently than in the original game. See Blitzball (FFX-2) for more information. The player can also purchase music or movie spheres in the theater to re-experience certain moments in the game.
