Magic in the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles series is like no other, instead of casting spells you learn, you must find Magicite and either focus the Magicite to cast spells or Fuse the Magicite to make new spells.

About

Casting Spells

Casting a spell is as simple as using a Focus Attack, all you must do is set the magicite in the command menu, than simply hold A and begin casting the spell. When the spell s being casted your character will stand still and begin to charge, once fully charged the casting circle will appear. You must move the casting circle to where you would like the spell to hit, you can use it on yourself as well. The range of the spell is about the limit of the Myrrh circle.

Enemies will also use casting circles when using spells, however the main difference is that their casting circles will appear on a single spot and not move. This allows you to easily walk out of the circle and attack.

Fusing Spells

To Fuse spells you must put two Magicites next to each other in the command menu. Once they are next to each other you must click on either one and on the Item Menu click Fuse. Not all Magicite can be Fused, you must use the correct ones to make a proper spell. Also, some spells can not be cast by Fusing, but require Linking on Multiplayer.

Linking Spells

On Multiplayer mode you will not be allowed to Fuse spells, you will have to use a different method called Linking. To Link a spell you and your friend, or friends, must each cast a spell and overlap their casting circles. Some spells can only be cast by using this method, but because of the casting speeds, Linking a spell can be a difficult task.
