O'aka XXIII (said O'aka the 23rd) is a non-playable character and traveling merchant from Final Fantasy X and X-2.

Tidus first meets O'aka on board the SS Winno. If Tidus helps O'aka out with some gil, he will lower his prices later in the game. O'aka is eventually imprisoned for refusing to turn in Yuna and her guardians, and replaced by his brother Wantz. He reveals that it is because Yuna reminds him of his sister who was also a summoner.

As a traveling merchant, O'aka can be found all over Spira. Upon first meeting him, he will ask for a donation. Depending upon how much gil you hand over, O'aka's prices vary:

0-100 gil: O'aka increases his prices to 200%

101-1000 gil: O'aka increases his prices to 150%

1001-10,000 gil: O'aka increases his prices to 120%

10,000+ gil: O'aka decreases his prices to 70%

You will have four opportunities to donate a total of over 10,000 gil. The prices below reflect the lowest prices available from O'aka.

Looking at O'aka's merchandise without buying anything will prompt him to ask if his prices are too high. Depending upon the player's response, he may change his prices:

Too pricey. - decreases prices by 25%

Just Right. - prices stay the same

Too cheap. - increases prices by 25%

O'aka has purchased the lakeside shop in Macalania. Due to the fact that there are no customers, O'aka can not pay off his debt to the Al Bhed. After chasing him through the woods, the party is given the option to allow him onto the airship. Doing so enables them to help O'aka pay off his debt. After reducing his debt to zero and returning to Macalania, they find that the Al Bhed have been killed by fiends. O'aka swears to keep the shop open even if he has to sell to fiends. Later he is reunited with Wantz who he refers to as "O'aka XXIV".
