Reks is a character from Final Fantasy XII. He is the first playable character of the game. Reks accompanies Basch and Vossler in preventing King Raminas from signing the peace treaty and falling into Archadia's trap. Though he is separated from the group, Reks eventually makes his way to Raminas, only to find him slain. Basch then stabs him, admits to murdering the king, and is arrested by Archadian forces. Though the wound was fatal, Reks was able to live long enough to report the events at Nalbina Fortress.

When Vaan is introduced, he often speaks of his brother who was killed two years prior. Three years after their parents died from the plague, Reks joined the Knights of Dalmasca. Vaan also makes it apparent that Reks favored Galbana Lillies (later naming his airship Galbana in Revenant Wings). Because of his brother’s death, when Vaan first encounters Basch, he treats him with extreme hatred and mistrust. However, Vaan eventually comes to find that Basch is innocent of his brother's murder and that Reks was the perfect witness to Basch's twin brother's (Gabranth) crime.

If the player participates in the hunts, Vaan will learn that Reks had once helped a Seeq named Jovy that was wrongly accused of being a thief.
