"Battle Against Safer Sephiroth"

Safer Sephiroth is a boss battle encountered in Final Fantasy VII at the Northern Crater. It is the second form of Sephiroth that you battle. It is also the final battle of the game.

It’s important to note that Safer Sephiroth’s stats can be higher due to some variables:

If you summoned Knights of the Round during the boss fight with Jenova SYNTHESIS, he will have an extra 80,000 HP.

Bizarro Sephiroth will have an extra 30,000 HP, 2 Attack, 5 Magic, 20 Defense, and 16 Magic Defense for each character that is at Level 99.

Each time you defeated the head of Bizarro Sephiroth will reduce Safer Sephiroth’s HP by 100, for a maximum of 24,900 HP taken off.

Strategy

Be prepared with the best armor, weapons, accessories, and materia. You will have to protect against status effects for this fight as well. Safer Sephiroth will start the battle by casting Wall on himself, so counter it will DeSpell. Immediately cast Wall (or Big Guard), Regen, and Haste on your party. Sephiroth may Dispel your characters, negating your hard work, so pay attention as you’ll have to recast them. Make sure you’re characters stay healed because Sephiroth has some strong attacks including Shadow Flare and Heartless Angel. Heartless Angel will take your characters’ HP down to 1, so you'll have to heal immediately or be ready with a Phoenix Down. Occasionally, Sephiroth will rise off the ground and you will have to use long range attacks. Since this is the final battle of the game, use your strongest attacks, Limit Breaks, and summons. Knights of the Round can do some real damage particularly if you’re fighting Safer Sephiroth at his base stats. When Safer Sephiroth is defeated, you will be treated to the final scenes of the game.
