Introduction
New intelligence tells us that Don Corneo has apparently hidden more items in the coal mines. The purpose of this mission is to bring Corneo’s excessive forces under control. You are allowed to keep all items you obtain during the mission.

Strategy
From the starting point, head down the eastern path to collect the Electrocute chest and the Adamantite chest, which is at the end. Return to the starting point and head north. At the intersection, proceed west and take the Ultima chest right in front of you. Continue on to find the Curaga and High Jump chests. Backtrack to the intersection and head west. Take the Firaga Blade on the way to the boss. The Gaea Malboro, like all malboros, will try to inflict you with all sorts of status effects. You can protect against the worst of these, but it’s not worth wasting a materia slot. Instead stay behind the creature at all times and unleash several Costly Punches. Since the Gaea Malboro is slow-moving, it should be easy enough to stay behind it. After about ten or so Costly Punches, you can stick to regular physical attacks to finish it off. You can also use your best Fire-based magic against it as well.
