Final Fantasy VII

As a member of the Turks, Tseng first appears just before the Sector 7 pillar collapses, kidnapping Aeris via helicopter. When the party visits Aeris’ mother, Elmyra, they learn that Tseng had visited Aeris when she was just a child to attempt to bring her to Shinra and had been secretly watching her for years.

Tseng later appears in Mythril Mine where Elena lets slip that they are pursuing Sephiroth. When the party arrives at Gongaga, Tseng is there with Scarlet in her search of Huge Materia. Tseng is also instrumental in collecting the Keystone from Cait Sith at the Gold Saucer.

When the party arrives at the Temple of the Ancients, they find Tseng gravely injured at the hands of Sephiroth. He gives Cloud the Keystone to enter the Temple and asks them to stop Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

Zack first meets Tseng shortly after Angeal’s disappearance. They are teamed up to investigate Genesis and Angeal’s hometown of Banora. There, Tseng displays the true nature of the Turks by digging up a grave and obliterating the village.

When Zack arrives at the church to find Aerith, Tseng tells him that she isn’t there, leading Zack to speculate over Tseng’s presence there. Just before being sent to Nibelheim, Zack asks Tseng to watch over Aerith to which Tseng agrees, knowing that he has already been ordered to monitor her.

After Zack and Cloud break free from Shinra Mansion, Tseng orders the Turks to find them before the military does in hopes of saving them. He also reveals that he has Aerith’s letters to Zack that he has been waiting to deliver.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

In the opening scene, Tseng’s voice can be heard as he and Elena search the Northern Crater. He and Elena are attacked there, and it isn’t until later in the film that Vincent Valentine reveals to Cloud that he found Tseng and Elena brutally tortured at the Forgotten City. He indicates that he rescued them, but there fate remains to be seen.

Tseng and Elena show up later to rescue Rufus Shinra from his fall during his encounter with Kadaj. His final appearance is toward the end of the film where he and his fellow Turks witness Rufus’ cure of Geostigma.
