There are many differences that you will see between the American (NTSC) version, and the Australian/European (PAL) version of Final Fantasy X. During the year before the release of PAL version, many extras were added to the game which can be found below. Some of the stats were also upgraded from the NTSC version. Below is a list of all the differences which are present in the PAL version of the game:

Abilities

Full Break - It casts all four of the breaks (Power, Magic, Armour and Mental break) on the enemy
Quick Pockets - It allows the user to use items with less recovery time
Pilfer Gil - Steal gil, a sort of Steal but one that steals gil instead of items
Nab Gil - Steal gil and attack at the same time, a sort of Mug but one that steals gil instead of items
Extract Power - One of the most useful abilities, which are pretty much needed during the beginning stages of the game, it forces enemies to drop Power spheres
Extract Mana - One of the most useful abilities, which are pretty much needed during the beginning stages of the game, it forces enemies to drop Mana spheres
Extract Ability - One of the most useful abilities, which are pretty much needed during the beginning stages of the game, it forces enemies to drop Ability spheres
Extract Speed - One of the most useful abilities, which are pretty much needed during the beginning stages of the game, it forces enemies to drop Speed spheres

Customisation Abilities

Power Distil - Weapon ability which forces enemies to drop Power Spheres after being defeated (requires 2 power spheres)
Mana Distil - Weapon ability which forces enemies to drop Mana Spheres after being defeated (requires 2 mana spheres)
Ability Distil - Weapon ability which forces enemies to drop Ability Spheres after being defeated (requires 2 ability spheres)
Speed Distil - Weapon ability which forces enemies to drop Speed Spheres after being defeated (requires 2 speed spheres)
Ribbon - Armour ability which protects user against all status effects besides Curse and Death (requires 99 Dark Matters)

Other stuff

Expert Sphere Grid - In the PAL version of the game there as a different type of sphere grid which you could choose. With this sphere grid you can go onto anyone else sphere grid from the beginning.
Dark Aeons - The PAL version had the added extra's known as the Dark Aeons which were evil versions of your aeons, which were quite hard to defeat. Defeating them also brought forth Penance who is considered the hardest boss in the PAL version of the game.
Quick Hit - Recovery time for quick hit was reduced, meaning even more hits were possible to be made
Zanmato - The ultimate ability was easier to do in the PAL version (mainly due to the dark aeons)
Omega Weapon - Omege weapon had 999,999 HP instead of the 99,999 HP in the NTSC version, making it harder to beat.
Oblivion - Oblivion did much more damage, about 25x more. In the NTSC version it does max 99,999 damage where as in the PAL version it does 99,999 damage every hit totalling 2,499,975 damage
Delta Attack - Delta attack did 6x more damage, again in the NTSC version it was capped at 99,999 damage where as in the PAL version it did 99,999 each hit totalling 599,994 damage
Attack Reels - Does extra damage depending on how fast you stop the reels
Tornado - Does extra damage if inputted button combination correctly (approximately twice as powerful)
Bonus DVD - The PAL version of the game also came with a bonus dvd with interview with the creators and trailers of FFX and Kingdom Hearts. It also had interviews with the voice actors
Behemoth - He no longer uses Meteor when captured (using a weapon with the ability capture)
Bribing - The amount by which you must bribe a fiend to get an item is reduced, however so have the number of items you will get
AP Gaining - There seems to be a Cap on how much AP you can get from the AP gaining trick however this seems to be removed in the NTSC
