Yuffie Kisaragi is one of the main protagonists in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Although you'd never know it by looking at her, Yuffie comes from a long line of ninja. She forced herself into the group just to get a "certain something". She's sneaky, arrogant and "way" selfish. But with her super shuriken and her special skills, there isn't anyone else you'd rather have on your side in a fight.

Although an optional character in this game, Yuffie’ skills are a welcome addition to the party. She also provides a lot of energy and humor to otherwise serious situations.

When the party lands on the shores of Wutai, they are surrounded by Shinra troops. In the ensuing chaos, Yuffie steals all of the materia and flees. After finishing the battle, the party chases Yuffie around Wutai. When they finally catch up to her, she, along with Elena, is kidnapped by Don Corneo and taken to Da Chao. After rescuing her from the mountain, Yuffie returns the materia and rejoins the party.

Upon reaching the top level of the Pagoda of the Five Gods, Yuffie must fight her father, Godo. After defeating him, he recognizes her ability and encourages her to continue her journey with the party. And just before Yuffie leaves, he encourages her to bring back the materia, sharing in his daughter’s obsession.

During the party’s second visit to the Gold Saucer, Cloud will go on a date with one of four other characters (Yuffie, Aeris, Tifa, or Barret) depending on the player’s actions throughout the game. On the date with Yuffie, she makes advances towards him and even plants a kiss, but Cloud denies any interest. (Interestingly enough, Yuffie is the only character that gets to kiss Cloud on the date.)

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

Yuffie first appears in this game when Zack raids Fort Tamblin. She enthusiastically declares herself Wutai’s greatest warrior and even attempts to fight Zack. She runs away in triumph after Zack pretends to be hurt.

Later in the game, Zack will receive e-mails from the “Treasure Princess” luring him into side missions for treasure. In each mission, Yuffie will make an appearance to steal the treasure. Upon completion of these missions, Yuffie will reveal that she is the Treasure Princess and steal Zack’s Bahamut Fury materia. She returns it however when she realizes she can’t use it.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Yuffie’s voice can be heard on Cloud’s voicemail when his phone falls into the water. She mentions that children from Wutai have gone missing and anticipates Cloud’s call.

Yuffie shows up later to aid in the battle against Bahamut SIN (after recovering from her motion sickness). She joins the crew aboard the Shera, clutching the materia, to watch Cloud battle Kadaj and Sephiroth. Yuffie appears at the end of the film at the church with the rest of the cast.

Reminiscence

In the Japanese-spoken extra on the DVD, Yuffie sends a “Closed for Business” sign to Barret through Cloud to encourage Cloud to take a day off. During a conversation between Cloud and Vincent, Vincent asks Cloud to tell Yuffie that she has no right to call his phone.

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus

As the head of the WRO’s espionage and intelligence gathering, Yuffie’s role in this game is significant. In the opening sequence, Yuffie is seen with Vincent aiding in the evacuation of Midgar just before Meteorfall (retconning their absence in the final FMV of the original game). She rescues Vincent from the top of the Sister Ray just before it collapses.

Yuffie later shows up (in disguise) just in time to save Vincent from Rosso who had just extracted the Protomateria from his chest. She cheerfully brags about being able to save the great Vincent Valentine, and even earns an unexpected “thanks” from him.

On board the airship, Yuffie still suffers from her motion sickness, making conversation with her brief, but entertaining.

Later, Yuffie helps lead the aerial assault on Midgar in the battle with Deepground. She successfully shuts down the generator, and meets up with Vincent. They encounter Nero who draws Yuffie into the darkness, but she is saved by Vincent.

She appears later with the rest of the crew to witness Vincent’s final attack on Omega. In the closing sequence, Yuffie is at 7th Heaven, asking Tifa if they’ve heard anything from Cloud concerning Vincent’s whereabouts.

Other Appearances

Kingdom Hearts

Yuffie is first mistaken for Kairi in Kingdom Hearts. Other that being younger, she is pretty much unchanged from her FFVII persona. She is a fightable opponent in Olympus in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2.

Kingdom Hearts ReCoM

Yuffie is the only person who isn't bothered by Sora's odd memories of her, Leon, Aerith, and Cid. Her design is unchanged from Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts 2

Yuffie is the same age as she is in Advent Children, and is wearing her outfit from the movie. She is an active member of the Restoration Comittee and is seen fighting along side her bretheren (the residents of the city) during the Heartless siege.
